This former fraternity has been extensively renovated for use as student housing with a cultural theme. The scope of work includes complete renovation of the exterior, including new dormers to make the attic space more usable. The front porch was completely rebuilt to provide an accessible route to the front entry. Masonry walls were structurally reinforced and re-pointed and a new slate roof was added.
Interior renovation encompasses new egress stairs, room layouts and bathrooms. Much of the first floor, which is completely accessible, is used as common space for special events and social gatherings. Like Mayo-Smith, Drew House is a high performing, sustainable facility with energy efficient walls, roof and windows.
